By Sunday night I called my sister and made her go out. We had a pretty good time and she didn't CANCEL! Needless to say I got to stay in a lot this Holiday weekend and did much cleaning ;)

Time Out Chair

Quinn got his first taste of the time out chair at Daycare yesterday. There is a little girl that I thought he liked at school... he used to say her name all the time at home. He'd call out to her right in the middle of dinner or point to the door and say "Abey, Abey" a few months back I saw him hug her and give her a kiss. Well I think they broke up... Quinn was caught kicking her shins. When she tried to walk away he followed her and continued kicker her shins. That same day, as the teachers and students were putting away books on a shelf or table, with one swoop he knocked them all to the floor. Now this is the Quinn I know... his teachers at daycare are always telling me what a good boy he is... When they say that I just look at them confused. I remember asking Tony if they would just lie to us, you know the old "oh yeah your child is the best!", while their eyes twitch. Don't get me wrong my son is the BEST to me... but he's a handful and is showing quite a bad steak lately. I think enjoys when you get mad, and he's testing his limits. He'll do something he knows is a "no-no" like throwing his entire meal on the floor. When I say "NO" and give him my most stern mom look... He looks me right in the eye, all serious with a stern baby look, then picks up a handful of food off his plate and dangles it over the floor, the two of us stair at each other for a few seconds, that western sound effect playing in the background... I say "DON'T... YOU ... DARE" He screams "NOOO" and drops it on the floor. I swear the corners of his mouth curl up in a little vindictive, naughty smile.

Yeah, It was only a matter of time before it came out at school. I suppose this is what they call the "terrible two's".It's time for a "time out" chair at home... and a copy of "The Supper Nanny" book.

backhanded compliments

Why does every compliment have to be followed with an insult... It's becoming quite funny.

Today I'm minding my own business when a woman comes up to me and says, "Hi Sharon, looks like you're loosing weight... I can see it in your face" I smile proudly and say thanks I'm trying. She follows it up with "most people are upset to see it only in their face, but don't worry it's a start" HA... that was a good one :) you got me!

Anther time, I was at a work party. This man/boy, maybe 24 years old that I didn't know starts talking to me and following me around... I'm thinking "oh yeah, I'm over thirty and I still got it" Later when I explain tactfully that I am not interested he says "that's ok I really wanted your friend but I figured you were obtainable since you're older..." the worst part is my friend is older then me!

About a year and a half ago, shortly after having the baby a "friend" comes up to me and proceeds to tell me that I am dressing all wrong for my body type. OK OK, momhood had taken it's toll in my style by then so I sit back and listen to his advise... he then DRAWS a picture of my body type!!! no kidding, DRAWS IT... a lumpy potato sack looking thing, and tells me that if I wore more baby doll shirts and flared pants I can cover that shape! Click here to see the actual drawings from him. He ends this lesson in style by telling me, I am a "hippy" girl and he doesn't believe that will be going away anytime soon. alrighty then, I did just have a baby there "friend"!

ok then... thank you folks, really you're too kind.
