Tuti fruity

Say hello to my mom's newest addition Tuti... We're trying to come up with a better name for her then Tuti - I haven't' heard that name since "the facts of life". She is a Pekingese/Chihuahua mix so she is part Mexican part British with a bit of Chinese way back in her Pekingese liniage... So far I have suggested Abby, Ella & lulu. She is very, VERY, VERY shy. So mom suggested we call her tiger... I like that :) Any ideas?

The Mailman's son

So my sister the jokster buys Quinn this T-shirt... I felt it was finally time to blog about the elephant in the room... When Quinn was born he gave us quite a shock... Tony was sitting in the room lovingly holding my swollen hands and telling me everything will be all right... he held the camera ready to capture the moment when our son appears in the world... When I was pregnant and found out Quinn was a boy, Tony and I went immediately to the store and bought a cute little outfit. I use to look for images of what I thought Quinn would look like, I found this cute little malado boy on a clothing tag, I ripped it off the item and stuffed it in my pocket. He looked hip with his cute, long curls and bronze face... I fell in love with that picture and carried it for the rest of my pregnancy. Little did I know I was in love with the wrong face.

So when the moment came - Tony peeks the camera over the guard that is covering the C-section from our eyes and snaps two random shots - which unfortunately also captures my insides in disarray (yuck) I'm not sure what Tony saw first the picture or the moment they held Quinn over the guard for me to take a look... but there he was in his white skinned, flamming red headed glory... the first words I heard were from the anesthesiologist... he said "utoh, is this the mailman's son?" hence the jokster T-shirt above... but the joke was on him... Tony is the mailman, so we all laughed. But for a long time I got "the look" from people... it hurt because how could I explain it to them, I couldn't even explain it myself. The only defense I could say was that Tony is only half black... making Quinn, only one quarter black. No matter though, some people cannot be convinced even to this day. Today I don't notice the looks anymore... Quinn is Quinn, he's a blue eyes, white skinned, blonde, and beautiful malado boy. So the shirt above sums it all up... and is quite funny.
