Mommy's in jail?

Ok Quinn is starting to scare me...

Before I picked him up today I ran to the bank. Sitting outside was a police officer. I parked and went in, when I came out and proceeded to leave the parking lot the officer rolled down the window and waved me over. I rolled down my window and he informed me that my registration was out of date and to have it renewed ASAP.

So I went directly to the daycare to get Quinn. While pulling out of the daycare Quinn says "Mommy did the cop put you in Jail?"

After a moment of shock ... I said no he just warned me to get my registration fixed... He pondered that for a moment and said "The cop is going to give me applesauce"... huh?

He knows about the subject of cops and jail because one day a few weeks ago he asked if he could drive... I said "if I let you drive the cops will put me in jail", which may explain his comment, but at that exact moment three or so weeks later ... is pretty odd.
