Sarcasm at four?

I bought Quinn a float vest that attaches between the legs so it stays on while he swims... I wanted to try it on him to make sure it fit, the directions say to adjust it so it's snug in the crotch area so it doesn't float over his head when he gets in the water. After I remove the vest and let him run off to play, being the polite child that he is, he flutters out of the room calling behind him "thanks for the wedgie mommy"

I fell to the floor laughing so hard he had to run back in to see if I was OK. He seemed so sincere with out a hint of humor, but it had to be sarcastic.
