SASSAFRASCAL*: The Story
*My real name’s Emma, which is obviously less exciting but more real.
My name is Emma Cline and I’m a digital artist from Findlay, OH.
Sunny Day, Five-year-old me.
It all began with some paper, crayons, and MS Paint. Yes, I was quite young when I started my digital art career. I’ve included a piece I made at age five to give you an idea of the MS Paint mastery that I once wielded.
I have vastly improved since my early years as is evident in my gallery. From a very early age, I’ve loved drawing. I’ve loved creating and making new things. I’ve always taken my art seriously and tried to improve wherever I could.
My parents gave me a drawing tablet when I was ten years old. I spent many years endlessly drawing misshapen humanoids, deformed animals, and wonky landscapes. Most of that art was Ctrl + Z’d away, but the lessons were learned.
Today, I draw human beings that look like human beings, animals that look like animals, and landscapes that, yes, look like landscapes. Needless to say, I am very excited about what my future holds with these skills in hand. So, I started my art brand, SASSAFRASCAL (family inside joke), and I’m making art straight from the heart. I’m curious to see where this current endeavor takes me, but wherever it does, I’ll be happy because I get to draw.
